RESEARCH

We Built trust in our Research through creative thinking

On this page, you can explore the research projects I am currently involved in, as well as those I have contributed to in the past. Here, I share an overview of my academic and professional collaborations, highlighting the topics, objectives, and impact of each project. This section reflects my ongoing commitment to advancing knowledge and contributing to meaningful research initiatives.

“My research explores how climate change and emerging contaminants shape the physiology and behaviour of marine organisms, with a particular focus on fishes.”

PROJECTS AS PI

Under Pressure: Evaluating the impacts of climate change and pollution on marine symbiotic relationships

This project addresses a critical gap in marine science by examining how combined stressors such as warming and contaminants disrupt mutualistic symbioses across taxa. The research integrates experimental ecophysiology and behavioural analysis to assess resilience and functional breakdown of biological partnerships.

The outcomes contribute to redefining how we understand resilience in complex biological systems under global change.

MicroToxFish: Global warming and the ability of microplastics to act as vectors for contaminants in fish early life stages: Within and transgenerational effects

This project investigates how microplastics and contaminants interact with rising temperatures to alter physiological integrity and behavioural performance in fish early life stages. By combining biomarker analysis, behavioural assays, and transgenerational approaches, the project identifies critical pathways through which pollution and climate change compromise survival and adaptive capacity.

This work provides novel insight into how future ocean conditions may shape fish populations and ecosystem resilience.
